Pirate Shop Access arrived on November 1, 2026, with Fortnite Treasure Hunters, the One Piece-themed mini-season on Crossbones Isle. It drops from regular chests and lets you claim almost anything sold for V-Bucks in the Item Shop for free. If you just want the rules, our Pirate Shop explainer covers them; this guide focuses on actually finding the token.
Each drop gives you two activations: 2026 (activate by December 15, 2026) and 2027 (January 1 to December 15, 2027). Each one unlocks a 14-day claim window. Epic hasn’t published the drop rate, but the Fortnite Status account confirmed that every chest gives every player the same chance. Treasure Hunters is expected to end on December 5, 2026, so you have about four weeks to hunt.
Steps to get a Pirate Shop Access token in Fortnite
- Queue a public Battle Royale or Zero Build match in a full squad. Turn on Squad Fill if you play alone, since every squad member gets the token when one person finds it.
- Land somewhere with plenty of chests but fewer players. Lantern Landing is chest-heavy but crowded, so early eliminations cost you rolls.
- Open or break every chest you find. Normal, Rare, Sprite, Buried, Wanted Poster and Relic chests all count, and breaking a chest counts the same as opening it.
- Watch for the win. The chest glows gold, shakes for a few seconds, then bursts with a “YOU FOUND PIRATE SHOP ACCESS” banner.
- Back in the lobby, open the Item Shop, select Plunder the Item Shop, then Activate Now when you’re ready to start the 14-day timer.

Importantly, the token only comes from chests. There’s no quest, code or purchase that grants it, and Epic says buying an account or using fake tools is a scam.
What the odds really look like
Epic hasn’t shared numbers, and dataminer HYPEX says the odds aren’t in the game files. The viral 1 in 700,000 figure has no source. The most detailed community estimate comes from player Blortzen:
| Stage | Estimated chance |
|---|---|
| Chest rolls a Treasure Hunt prize | About 1 in 100 |
| Prize lands in the Supreme tier | 5% to 10% |
| Supreme prize is Pirate Shop Access | About 50% (shares the tier with the weekly gold skin) |
| Overall, per chest | About 1 in 2,000 |
Notably, Major and Supreme prizes don’t repeat. Once you own the week’s gold skin (Solid Gold A$AP Rocky in Week 1), the token is reportedly the only Supreme prize left, which roughly doubles your odds to about 1 in 1,000.

Here’s what that means in practice. The first confirmed winner, snowslept, opened about 150 chests across three Solos matches, or roughly 50 per match. A four-player squad hitting that pace rolls about 200 chests per match, so on the community estimate, your squad needs around 10 matches on average. That’s an average, not a guarantee, and it rests on unconfirmed math.
Treasure Hour could boost your chances
Fortnite’s Tofu Chris confirmed that Treasure Hours are coming to Treasure Hunters, but Epic hasn’t announced a date, time or how much they boost. Override’s Sprite Power Hours ran on weekends, so a weekend slot seems likely. Treat any leaked schedule as unconfirmed until Epic posts it.
When to activate your token
The 14-day timer starts only when you press Activate Now, so don’t rush it. Since the Item Shop rotates daily, time your window around the items you want:
- One Piece bundle: Epic lists it until December 3, 7 PM ET (4 PM PT). Activate before then if you want the One Piece skins.
- 2026 deadline: Activate by December 15, 2026, or you lose that window.
- Claimed items are permanent, and the first winner confirmed Jam Tracks are included.
What you can’t claim:
- Real-money offers and packs
- Battle Pass levels or rewards, including the Treasure Hunters Battle Pass
- Gifts for friends
- More than one free Sidekick, or one you already own
The token is also tied to your account and can’t be transferred.
Scams, exploits and myths to skip
A black market has formed around the token, with paid carries, AFK farming tools and a $10,000 eBay account listing. Epic’s rules ban account sales and automation, and violations can cost you your account and every item on it.
Some players use Explosive Cannon Balls, Shockwave Grenades or the Gum-Gum Fruit to break chests in locked vaults without a key. That gets you more rolls, but Epic hasn’t said whether it considers this an exploit, so use it at your own risk.
These myths don’t work: wearing a One Piece skin, picking a certain skin, being a new or returning player, a “Token Compass,” or special chests with better odds. Reports also claim Ranked lobbies don’t award the token, so stick to public matchmaking.
Signing off
Pirate Shop Access is certainly the most coveted prize Treasure Hunters offers, and it’s purely a numbers game. Squad up, open every chest, and own the weekly gold skin to tilt the odds your way.
Epic has confirmed Treasure Hours but not their timing. Moreover, the hunt is expected to wrap on December 5, so the window to find a token is shorter than the window to use it.
It’s a rare Treasure Hunt prize from Battle Royale chests. Activating it lets you claim almost anything sold for V-Bucks in the Item Shop for free for 14 days.
Two per drop. You get one 14-day window in 2026 and another in 2027.
Yes, as of November 5, 2026. It drops from chests throughout Treasure Hunters, which is expected to end on December 5, 2026.
Yes. When one player finds it, every member of that squad receives it, which makes full squads the most efficient way to hunt.
No. Battle Pass levels, real-money offers and gifting are excluded.
