Epic Games will overhaul Fortnite Crew on December 5, 2026, in the biggest shake-up since the subscription absorbed every pass in 2024. The changes, announced on November 4, 2026, replace the monthly Crew Pack outfit with loyalty-based V-Bucks tiers and a permanent XP boost.
The price holds at $11.99 (£9.99) per month. Monthly V-Bucks start at 1,000 and climb to 1,600 for subscribers of 12 months or more, while the OG Pass leaves Crew the same day. Epic detailed everything in its official Fortnite Crew announcement.
Fortnite Crew Price After December 5

Nothing changes on the bill. Crew still costs $11.99 (£9.99) per month and still includes the Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass and Rocket Pass Premium for Rocket League.
That bundle matters because the main pass alone now costs 800 V-Bucks, as with the current Treasure Hunters Battle Pass. Existing subscribers don’t need to do anything to keep their membership.
New Fortnite Crew Tiers and Monthly V-Bucks
Epic doesn’t sell the tiers. You earn them automatically based on how many consecutive months you’ve stayed subscribed.
| Tier | Consecutive months | Monthly V-Bucks | Gain over the current 800 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core | 1 to 2 | 1,000 | +200 |
| Bronze | 3 to 5 | 1,200 | +400 |
| Silver | 6 to 11 | 1,400 | +600 |
| Gold | 12+ | 1,600 | +800 |
Current members get credit for time already served. Epic counts consecutive months from the last 12, so anyone subscribed since December 2025 starts directly at Gold. A new Crew tab in Fortnite shows your starting tier on December 5.
What a Year of Crew Is Now Worth
A new subscriber who joins on December 5 and never cancels collects 15,600 V-Bucks in the first 12 months for $143.88. The same year at today’s 800-per-month rate yields only 9,600. From year two, Gold pays 19,200 V-Bucks a year.
The per-dollar math depends on your tier. Since March 19, 2026, the $8.99 pack has given 800 V-Bucks, or about $1.12 per 100. Gold drops that to roughly $0.75 per 100, before counting the passes.
Core is the outlier. At about $1.20 per 100 V-Bucks, it actually costs more per V-Buck than the $8.99 pack, so the passes carry the value in your first two months. If you buy currency separately, see our guide to redeeming a V-Bucks card.
The Catch: Cancelling Resets Your Tier
Tiers track an unbroken streak. Cancel for even one month and you drop back to Core at 1,000 V-Bucks.
Epic offers a one-time grace window. If you resubscribe by December 31, 2026, at 11:59 PM ET (8:59 PM PT), your tier reflects your most recent continuous stretch within the past 12 months. A three-month run earlier in 2026, for example, puts you straight into Bronze.
After that deadline, older history stops counting and every returning player starts at Core. If you plan to come back to Crew at some point, December is the month to do it.
New XP Boost for Crew Members and Their Party
Crew members get 20% bonus XP. Party members without Crew get 10% bonus XP while playing alongside a subscriber.
The boosts don’t stack. Three subscribers in one squad still give a non-member a single 10% bonus. Reports of Epic’s post list Battle Royale, Zero Build and Save the World as eligible, but Epic hasn’t said whether the boost works on Creative islands such as the best XP maps.
What Fortnite Crew Is Losing

- Crew Pack outfits: The December 2026 pack is the last with an exclusive outfit. Monthly drops like the September 2026 Crew Pack end there.
- OG Pass: It leaves on December 5 as Fortnite OG wraps Chapter 1 with OG Season X. Epic plans the next era of Fortnite OG for late 2027.
- Legacy Styles requirement: In December, every owner of a Crew Pack receives all remaining Legacy Styles for its outfit, pickaxe and back bling, even without an active subscription. Items you already own stay in your locker.
Who Wins and Who Loses With the New Crew
- Long-term subscribers: The clear winners. Gold doubles the current 800 V-Bucks to 1,600 every month.
- Collectors: They lose the exclusive monthly skin, which was the main reason many players subscribed. Rotating free Fortnite skins won’t fill that gap.
- On-and-off subscribers: The reset hurts. Joining only for a season you like keeps you at Core, where V-Bucks cost more than in the shop.
- OG players: They lose the OG Pass for close to a year.
- Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members: Crew is still part of Ultimate, but Epic hasn’t detailed how Game Pass time counts toward tiers.
Signing off
The new Crew essentially trades cosmetics for currency. Loyal players get more V-Bucks than ever, while players who subscribed for exclusive skins lose their main reason to stay.
Epic hasn’t said whether the $11.99 price will hold into 2027 or whether Crew-only cosmetics could return in another form. For now, check the Crew tab on December 5 to see where you land.
It’s a loyalty ladder of four tiers: Core, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each tier raises your monthly V-Bucks, from 1,000 at Core to 1,600 at Gold, based on consecutive months subscribed.
Between 1,000 and 1,600 V-Bucks a month. You get 1,000 in months one and two, 1,200 in months three to five, 1,400 in months six to 11 and 1,600 from month 12.
