How to Get Plundarrgh Sprite in Fortnite Treasure Hunters

Plundarrgh is free and costs no V-Bucks. Per Epic’s Treasure Hunters announcement, opening chests with it equipped boosts your pickaxe speed and movement speed. Two variants are live now, and a third, Cursed Plundarrgh, unlocks on November 7, 2026.

What the Plundarrgh Sprite Does in Fortnite

Every chest you open speeds up your pickaxe and your movement. Epic hasn’t published the size or duration of the boost, and trackers list no extra effect at higher levels.

The value is in the loop. Faster movement gets you to the next chest sooner, and chests are also where Sprites drop. Plundarrgh works best on loot-heavy routes where you open chests back to back.

Epic also confirmed Gold Sprites return on November 21 with bonus elimination XP. It hasn’t said whether Plundarrgh gets a Gold form.

Steps to Get the Plundarrgh Sprite in Fortnite

Epic hasn’t tied Plundarrgh to a fixed spawn, so you farm it through the season’s standard Sprite sources.

1. Drop at a chest-dense POI. Cursed Cavern, Loot Lagoon, Plunder Port and The Chest all carry heavy chest counts. The Chest is the strongest pick but draws hot drops.
2. Tear down Wanted Posters. Each one becomes a Sprite Treasure Map leading to a buried Sprite Chest, which always drops a Sprite.
3. Open every regular chest on your route. Standard chests have a low chance of dropping a random Sprite, Plundarrgh included.
4. Eliminate players carrying it. A player with a Sprite equipped drops it on elimination.
5. Extract it. A Sprite only joins your collection after you use a Portable Extractor or an Extraction Site.

Trading with a teammate who owns Plundarrgh is the fastest shortcut, but it depends on them parting with a Mythic. A Lucky Locator from the Sprite Mastery track also helps once most of your collection is filled.

How to Farm the Plundarrgh Sprite Faster

Pair it with the right Sprites. Exmarks reveals nearby Treasure Maps and Wanted Posters, and Wayfinder reveals nearby Sprites. Both shorten the search for Sprite Chests.

Weigh the Cursed trade-off. Cursed Plundarrgh raises your odds of rare variants, but water hurts you. That clashes with water-based Sprites like Kelper and Barry O’Fish, so skip it if your route crosses the coast.

When Cursed Plundarrgh Goes Live

Epic confirmed Cursed variants unlock with the November 7, 2026 Captain’s Day update, covering 11 Sprites including Plundarrgh. Epic hasn’t given an exact time. Based on past Power Hour patterns, a launch around 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET seems likely, but treat that as an estimate.

Plundarrgh rewards players who loot aggressively, and its Fortune form makes the hunt for more chests easier. The Cursed version on November 7 changes the math with a real downside for water routes.
