The Pirate Shop is the rarest prize in Fortnite Treasure Hunters, the One Piece-themed mini-season that went live on November 1, 2026. Win it from a Battle Royale chest, and you can claim almost anything in the Item Shop for 0 V-Bucks for 14 days after you activate it.
Each win gives you two activations: one for 2026 and one for 2027. Real-money offers, gifting and pass levels are excluded, and Epic has not published the drop rate. Data miner ShiinaBR shared the first confirmed Pirate Shop unlock a few hours after launch. Epic’s official Treasure Hunters overview covers the chest refills and treasure hunt that feed the reward pool.
What is the Pirate Shop in Fortnite?
The Pirate Shop is a time-limited free pass for the Item Shop. While it runs, every eligible cosmetic shows a price of zero, and anything you claim stays in your Locker permanently.
Multiple outlets have reported the in-game description. It says you can activate it twice, once in 2026 and once in 2027, and that the treasure is not transferable. The first winner also confirmed that Jam Tracks count as claimable items.
How to unlock Pirate Shop access
There’s no quest, code or purchase for it. You get it only as a random chest reward in Battle Royale on Crossbones Isle.
- Queue into a Battle Royale match on the Treasure Hunters island.
- Open as many chests as you can, with priority on Treasure Hunt chests (reported with a gold glow and a skull-and-crossbones design).
- Loop back to chests you already looted, since chests now refill over time.
- Return to the lobby after the match. A notification confirms the Pirate Shop and its two activations.
Reports differ on which chests can roll it. Some list Treasure, Buried, Sprite and Rare chests, and the first winner said their chest looked like any other. Hence, don’t skip regular chests.
That same player reportedly found it in their third Solos match after opening around 150 chests. Treat that as luck, not a benchmark. A Lucky Locator from Sprite Mastery can help you find chests faster.
Play in a party to share the drop
Multiple reports say that when one player finds the Pirate Shop, everyone in their party receives it too. Epic has not confirmed this, but it changes the math: in a full squad, each member benefits from four players’ chests per match instead of one.
How to activate the Pirate Shop and claim free items
- Open the Item Shop from the lobby.
- Select Plunder the Item Shop in the bottom-right corner.
- Press Activate Now to start the 14-day timer.
- Claim items as usual. Eligible cosmetics cost nothing while the timer runs.
The timer starts only when you press activate, not when you win. Notably, your first activation must be used by mid-December. Most reports list December 15, 2026, while others list December 16, so activate before December 15 to be safe. The second activation opens on January 1, 2027.
What the Pirate Shop does not cover
| Covered | Not covered |
|---|---|
| Outfits, emotes, pickaxes, gliders, wraps | Real-money offers (Starter Packs, Quest Packs) |
| Jam Tracks | Gifting to friends |
| One Sidekick you don’t already own | Battle Pass levels and rewards |
| Anything priced in V-Bucks | V-Bucks themselves, account transfers |
The Sidekick rule matters most. You can claim only one free Sidekick, so pick it carefully rather than grabbing the first one you see.
Best time to activate your 2026 Pirate Shop
Because the window is only 14 days, timing decides your haul. According to Epic’s schedule, this is the Treasure Hunters shop lineup:
- November 1: Luffy, Nami and Usopp
- November 5, 7 PM ET (4 PM PT): A$AP Rocky
- November 7: Zoro, Sanji and the Chopper Sidekick
- November 12: Lil Uzi Vert
- November 13: Buggy
- November 14: Kasane Teto and Cap’n Hatsune Miku

Activating on November 5 covers every announced Treasure Hunters shop wave through November 19. It also lets you take the Chopper Sidekick as your one free Sidekick. Our One Piece skins guide lists what each wave includes.
However, you might prefer the Chapter 7 end event (reported for December 5) and the next season’s launch shop. In that case, wait until early December, keeping the December 15 deadline in mind. Shop items rotate daily, so a window that overlaps a season launch usually sees more new cosmetics.
Avoid Pirate Shop scams
The Pirate Shop exists only as an in-game chest reward. Any site, video or account selling “Pirate Shop codes,” token generators or account boosts is a scam and can cost you your account. Epic has never issued free V-Bucks codes.
Signing off
The Pirate Shop is the most generous free reward of the mini-season. Its secret odds keep every chest worth opening until Treasure Hunters ends in early December. Weekly Captain’s Days keep adding new bosses and shop items, so each week brings a fresh reason to hold or use your activation.
The 2027 activation is the quieter win. It gives you a second 14-day window next year, which you can time around a major collab once Epic reveals the 2027 roadmap.
It’s a rare chest reward from the Treasure Hunters mini-season that makes eligible Item Shop cosmetics free for 14 days after activation. You get two activations, one for 2026 and one for 2027.
Epic has not shared the drop rate. Data miner HYPEX reports it stays in the chest prize pool every week, but there’s no guaranteed location or pity system.
Yes. Anything you claim during the window stays in your Locker permanently.
Multiple reports say every player in the finder’s party receives it. Epic has not officially confirmed this, but it’s worth playing Duos or Squads with friends.
No. Battle Pass levels and rewards, real-money offers and gifting are all excluded.
