The Stranger Things crossover is back in Fortnite’s Item Shop as of July 15, 2026, giving players another shot at Chief Hopper, Vecna, Eleven, and the rest of the Hawkins gang during Chapter 7 Season 3, Runners. If you missed the last rotation, or you’re new to Fortnite and wondering why half your squad is dressed like extras from a Netflix set, this is the moment to jump in.
This collab has quietly become one of Fortnite‘s most durable partnerships. What started as a one-off in 2019 has now spawned three separate waves of content, culminating in a five-skin drop tied to Stranger Things’ fifth and final season. Epic clearly knows the nostalgia sells; the bundle has resurfaced in the shop over 40 times since its debut, and each return still draws a crowd.
Below, you’ll find every way to grab these skins right now, the full roster of Stranger Things cosmetics released so far, and why a few fan favorites are still missing from the lineup.
How to Unlock Stranger Things Skins in Fortnite
- Open Fortnite and head to the Item Shop tab from the main lobby.
- Scroll to the Stranger Things section; it typically sits near the top during an active rotation, alongside other returning legacy bundles.
- Select the skin, pickaxe, or bundle you want and confirm you have enough V-Bucks to cover it.
- If you’re short on V-Bucks, back out to the Store tab and purchase a V-Bucks pack, or top up through your platform’s own storefront (PlayStation Store, Xbox, Nintendo eShop, or the Epic Games Store on PC).
- Optionally, enter a Support-A-Creator code, such as “Shiina,” which has been tied to this rotation — before checkout. It won’t lower your price, but it directs a small cut of the purchase to that creator.
- Confirm the purchase. The outfit, back bling, pickaxe, and any wraps or emotes included in your chosen bundle land in your locker immediately.

There’s currently no free or quest-based way to unlock any Stranger Things item; every piece tied to this collab has been an Item Shop purchase since 2019, with no in-game challenges attached.

Notably, that Wave 3 drop also brought a dedicated Blitz Royale mode map built around Hawkins, complete with Upside Down portals scattered across the town and a set of matching pickaxes, back blings, and glider contrails to go with the outfits.
As of the current July 15, 2026 rotation, the full Wave 3 gang- Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, and Vecna is apparently bundled together at a steep discount, dropping from 6,800 to 3,400 V-Bucks, while Eleven is being sold on her own at 1,500 V-Bucks.
Hopper and Demogorgon have historically ridden along in these returns as well, though Epic hasn’t published a fixed schedule for which characters get bundled together each time.
Why Steve, Max, and Nancy Still Aren’t in Fortnite
Despite three separate waves of content, several of Stranger Things’ most requested characters remain absent. Steve Harrington, Max Mayfield, Nancy Wheeler, Jonathan Byers, and Robin Buckley all missed the November 2025 cut, even though the update was timed to the show’s final season. Fans have been vocal about the omission, particularly around Max, who many consider one of the show’s most iconic characters.
Epic hasn’t given an official explanation for the gaps. It’s possible licensing costs, character usage rights, or simple scheduling around Netflix’s staggered Season 5 rollout (split into three parts) are behind it. Whatever the reason, there’s no confirmation of a fourth wave yet, though the appetite among players certainly suggests Epic would have an easy win if it added the missing cast members later this year.
Is the Stranger Things bundle still in the shop right now?
Fortnite’s Item Shop rotates daily, typically resetting around 7 PM ET (12 AM BST), so a bundle that’s live today isn’t guaranteed to be live tomorrow. The current return kicked off on July 15, 2026, and based on how this collab has behaved since 2023- more than 40 reappearances and counting- it tends to stick around for a few days before rotating back out, sometimes for months at a stretch.
If you’re reading this after the rotation has ended, don’t panic. This bundle has now returned often enough that it functions less like a rare vault item and more like a recurring guest; it may take weeks, but it does come back. Following Fortnite-tracking accounts or checking a live shop tracker is the most reliable way to catch it the moment it reappears.
Wrapping Up
Three waves in, the Fortnite x Stranger Things partnership has settled into a rhythm: drop a batch of skins around a show milestone, let it fade from the shop, then bring it back for nostalgia’s sake a year or two later. With Stranger Things Season 5 still rolling out in parts and Steve, Max, and Nancy still on the sidelines, there’s a real chance Epic has at least one more wave left in this collab before it’s done.
