Fortnite is adding a second Chun-Li, this time based on Callina Liang’s version of the character from the live-action Street Fighter movie, which reaches theaters on October 16, 2026. The outfit hits the Item Shop on October 10, but you can unlock it free one day earlier through the Street Fighter Cup on Friday, October 9. It joins an already crowded list of free Fortnite skins.

The cup is the only free route. Once it wraps, the outfit costs V-Bucks. Notably, this is the first time any Chun-Li has been obtainable without paying. The original 2021 Ryu and Chun-Li launch had no tournament at all.

Here’s everything you need to qualify, how scoring works, and what rank your region demands.

What is the Chun-Li (Street Fighter 2026) skin?

Chun-Li (Street Fighter 2026) is a new Gaming Legends Series outfit that arrived with the Fortnite v42.30 update. It uses Callina Liang’s likeness, with a more athletic build than the arcade version. Epic and the official Street Fighter movie account revealed it at ComplexCon on the weekend of October 3 to 4.

Importantly, it’s a separate item from the Chapter 2 Season 5 Chun-Li. Owning the classic blue-qipao outfit doesn’t unlock the movie version, and the new one doesn’t replace it.

Epic runs three versions of the Street Fighter Cup on October 9, all in the Reload ruleset. Pick the one that matches your platform and playstyle.

Street Fighter Cup ReloadDuos121:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET (10:00 AM to 12:30 PM PT)
Street Fighter Cup Zero Build ReloadDuos121:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET (10:00 AM to 12:30 PM PT)
Street Fighter Mobile CupSolo, touch only812:00 PM to 1:15 PM ET (9:00 AM to 10:15 AM PT)

Cup windows run at different local times per server region, so confirm your slot in the Compete tab before the day starts.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Account level 50 or higher (level 15 for the Mobile Cup)
  • Multi-Factor Authentication (2FA) enabled on your Epic account
  • A valid competitive rank
  • Epic’s standard age restrictions

How to join the cup:

  1. Enable 2FA from the Password & Security section of your Epic Games account page.
  2. Launch Fortnite and open the Compete tab.
  3. Select the Street Fighter Cup version you want to play.
  4. Invite your Duos partner (skip this for the Mobile Cup) and confirm your server region.
  5. Ready up once the window opens and play through your allotted matches.

Rank needed for the free Chun-Li skin in each region

Your final leaderboard spot decides the reward, and cutoffs vary heavily by region.

RegionReload / Zero Build (Duos)Mobile (Solo)
EuropeTop 500Top 200
NA CentralTop 350Top 150
NA WestTop 100Top 30
BrazilTop 100Top 30
AsiaTop 50Top 30
Middle EastTop 50Top 30
OceaniaTop 50Top 30

Europe offers the widest window by a distance. Players on Asia, Middle East, and Oceania servers face the toughest bracket, with only 50 Duos teams qualifying.

How Street Fighter Cup scoring works

Placement drives the leaderboard, not eliminations. A Victory Royale earns 60 points, while each elimination adds just 2.

PlacementPoints
1st60
2nd50
3rd45
4th40
5th35
6th30
7th to 10th27, 24, 21, 18
11th to 12th15
13th to 15th9, 6, 3
Each elimination+2

The math is telling. Thirty eliminations equal one Victory Royale. Past Reload Duos cups needed roughly 505 points for a Top 50 finish, which works out to about 42 points per match across 12 games. That’s the equivalent of finishing fourth every single match. Hence, play for zone position and late-game survival rather than early fights.

All Street Fighter Cup rewards

Chun-Li (Street Fighter 2026) Outfit: Top regional finishers
World Warrior Tournament Token Back Bling: Top regional finishers
Ready, Set, Fight Spray: 8 points in Reload/Zero Build, 5 points in Mobile

The spray is the easy win here. A single 10th-place finish (18 points) clears the Reload threshold. Rewards land in your locker after Epic finalizes results. If something you earned doesn’t appear, file it through Report > Report a bug > Rewards I earned aren’t appearing.

How to buy the Chun-Li skin if you miss the cutoff

The full Street Fighter set arrives in the Item Shop on October 10, 2026, following the same cup-then-shop pattern Epic used for the Madison Beer skin. Epic hasn’t confirmed pricing at the time of writing. Estimates sit between 1,500 and 1,800 V-Bucks for the outfit, while the classic Chun-Li last sold for 1,600 V-Bucks.

Full Street Fighter (2026) set:

  • Chun-Li (Street Fighter 2026) Outfit
  • Ryu (Street Fighter 2026) Outfit, with a Dark Ryu style
  • Chun-Li’s Invitation Token Back Bling
  • Hadouken To Go Back Bling, with a Fully Charged style
  • Chun-Li’s Nunchaku Pickaxe
  • Hado Fists Pickaxe
  • Car Smash Emote

To buy it, open the Shop tab, find the Street Fighter section, select Chun-Li or the bundle, and hold the Purchase button. Bear in mind the set shares shop space with Fortnitemares through October 31, including the FNAF bundle, so budget accordingly.

Also, ignore any “free Chun-Li code” or V-Bucks generator. The cup is the only legitimate free method, and those offers are account-phishing scams.

Signing Off

The movie Chun-Li is currently the only Street Fighter 2026 outfit up for grabs through competition, as Ryu is shop-only. Epic regularly rotates Gaming Legends outfits back into the Item Shop, so missing the cup isn’t the end. However, a free tournament route for a Chun-Li skin may not come around again soon.
