The Mythic One Wish Willow Sprite has no fixed spawn, but Pumpkin Chests and high-rarity Cheat Codes give you the best odds before Chapter 7 Season 4 ends October 31.

One Wish Willow Obsession Sprite

Epic added the One Wish Willow Sprite to Fortnite with the v42.40 update on October 15, 2026, as the second-half tie-in for Fortnitemares 2026. It’s based on the cursed wish-granting trinket from Curry Barker’s horror film Obsession, and it sits at Mythic rarity, the top Sprite tier this season. If you’ve been chasing the rest of the set, our Vampire Sprite guide covers the other Fortnitemares drop.

The Sprite costs nothing, but it has no fixed spawn and no published drop rate. You get it purely from loot, and you have until Chapter 7 Season 4 ends, expected on October 31, 2026 (Epic hasn’t confirmed the exact time). Epic lists its ability in the official v42.40 update notes.

“Obsession Sprite” and “One Wish Willow” are the same thing

Epic’s Fortnitemares roadmap called it the Obsession Sprite (October 15). In-game and in the patch notes, it’s named One Wish Willow. If a guide or leak mentions either name, it’s this Sprite.

Notably, the Obsession outfit, back bling, pickaxe and emote are separate Item Shop cosmetics. Buying them does not unlock the Sprite.

Steps to get the One Wish Willow Sprite in Fortnite

  1. Land at a Fortnitemares hotspot. Freaky Fields and Nightmare Neighborhood, both added in v42.40, pack the most chests and Cheat Codes. Reality’s Reign, Wonkeeland and Chopped Shop are quieter alternatives.
  2. Smash every Pumpkin Chest you see. Each one drops a Sprite, though not always this one. They only spawn in Fortnitemares zones.
  3. Prioritize high-rarity Cheat Codes. Epic and Mythic codes roll better Sprites. Grab the Cheat Code Locator gizmo to reveal rare codes on your map.
  4. Hit the two Vaults. One sits under Stone Sanctum and the other at the Mega Maze landmark. Both hold rare chests that share the Sprite pool.
  5. Use the Lucky Locator if One Wish Willow is the last Sprite you’re missing. It points toward Sprites you haven’t collected yet.

Freddy Krueger in Nightmare Neighborhood also drops a random Sprite alongside Freddy’s Nightmare, so he’s worth a detour. Squads can trade too, which is the fastest route if a teammate already has one.

What the One Wish Willow Sprite does

Epic’s patch notes list three parts to its ability:

  • On elimination: you extract every Sprite your opponent had equipped.
  • When damaged: it knocks back nearby enemies, buying space to heal.
  • If you remove it: your position gets marked on the map.

That last line is the catch. Once you equip it, swapping it out mid-match broadcasts your location, so decide before a fight whether it earns a slot. Its steal effect makes it strongest in aggressive, high-elimination matches where you can snowball other players’ Sprites.

Epic hasn’t published push strength, cooldown or marker duration. The in-game text also says it pushes “everything,” while the patch notes say “enemies,” so treat the exact radius as unconfirmed.

All One Wish Willow variants

The Sprite has six versions, and all share the base ability above.

Signing Off

One Wish Willow is currently one of the hardest Sprites to land this season, mostly because Epic gives you no spawn point and no odds. Your best bet is volume: more Pumpkin Chests and rare Cheat Codes per match.

Time is the real limit. Chapter 7 Season 4 is expected to wrap on October 31, and Epic hasn’t said whether Sprites carry into the next season, so it’s worth farming now rather than waiting. Keep an eye on upcoming Sprite Power Hours for boosted drop windows.
