Kado Thorne is back. The Chapter 4 Season 4 vampire returned on October 8, 2026, when Nitemare Island: Kado’s Curse took over Reload as part of Fortnitemares. Alongside the free Kado Thorne Reload quests, Epic added an Elite version of the character to The Elites set in Chapter 7 Season 4, titled Override.
You can’t buy Elite Kado Thorne yet. Right now, the only way to unlock it is the Elite Kado Thorne Cup, a one-day Solo Reload tournament on October 13, 2026. Sessions run region by region across the day, so check your slot below before you queue.
What is the Elite Kado Thorne skin?
Elite Kado Thorne is an Epic Outfit from The Elites set, alongside Elite Zadie, Elite Daigo, and Elite Jules. It comes with three styles: Elite Kado Thorne, Revenant Form, and Revenant Form Off.
It is a separate cosmetic from the original Kado Thorne from the Chapter 4 Season 4 Battle Pass. Owning the original does not unlock the Elite version. The story setup comes from Elite Zadie’s new voicelines, which reveal she has apparently wanted Kado in the Elites for years.
Elite Kado Thorne Cup rewards
Outfit: Elite Kado Thorne
Pickaxe: Psyonic Spear
Back Bling: Psyonic Elite Cloak

Epic’s event page lists only “Elite Kado Thorne cosmetic rewards” and does not publish a placement cutoff. Early reports put the threshold at Top 50 per region. Treat Top 50 as your target and confirm the exact number in the event’s Compete tab listing before you play.

How to enter the Elite Kado Thorne Cup

- Enable multi-factor authentication on your Epic Games account under Password & Security. Epic blocks entry without MFA.
- Confirm you meet the age rule: 13 or older, or your country’s minimum age.
- Launch Fortnite and open the Compete tab.
- Select Elite Kado Thorne Cup and check that the region matches where you play.
- Queue during your region’s session window. Each match counts toward your points on the leaderboard.
- Track your rank on the in-game leaderboard after each match. Rewards land in your Locker once Epic verifies results, which can take several days.
Tips for placing high in Solo Reload
- Play on your home servers. Ping decides close fights. Pick the matchmaking region closest to you, even if another region’s session fits your schedule better.
- Rotate to the edge of the zone after dying. The Fortnitemares update moved Solos reboots closer to the edge of the safe zone. Over water, you reboot toward the coastline. Plan your loot route from there instead of expecting a central drop.
- Use The Hunt on Nitemare Island. Kado may assign you a Mark when you land. You see your target’s general area, and eliminating them earns a reward of Kado’s choosing. A new Mark is assigned every Storm Circle, so it doubles as a steady source of elims and loot.
- Grab Kado’s Siphon weapons. The update added Siphon-based weapons to Nitemare Island’s loot pool. These keep you topped up in back-to-back fights, which matters more in a points race than a single win.
Missed the cup? Other ways to get Elite Kado Thorne
- Item Shop. Epic has not confirmed a Shop release. However, the cup is framed as an early unlock, and several reports expect a Shop drop later in Fortnitemares. Beebom estimates 1,500 V-Bucks for the Outfit and 2,800 V-Bucks for the full bundle, but treat those prices as unconfirmed.
- Ranked tiers. Epic’s own Reload update post also links Elite Kado Thorne to reaching specific Ranked tiers this season, without naming the tier. Ranked reset on October 8, so check the Ranked reward panel in Reload for the exact milestone.
Free Kado cosmetics in the meantime. You can still claim three Kado-themed rewards without spending anything:
- Win a Ranked or Unranked Reload match for the Eclipse ‘Brella Reloaded umbrella.
- Finish all 12 Kado Thorne quests for the Driver of Darkness Pickaxe.
- Reach Unreal for the Kado-themed Axe of Unreal.

Signing Off
Elite Kado Thorne follows the same path as cup-first skins such as the Callina Liang Chun-Li skin and Madison Beer: a short free window for competitive players, then a likely Shop return. With Fortnitemares running through October and update 42.30 adding more Kado content, there’s a chance the Ranked route or the Shop opens up before the month ends.
