Pac-Man has finally landed in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, titled Override. The v42.20 update on September 17, 2026 added Mecha Ghosts to Mega Maze and a Legendary Blinky Sprite. The Item Shop followed on September 18 with the Pac-Man Sidekick.
The Sidekick is time-bound. It leaves the shop on September 25, 2026, and no free unlock route has been confirmed. Below, you’ll find the price, the exact steps, the bundle math, and the leave time in your time zone.
What is the Pac-Man Sidekick in Fortnite?
The Pac-Man Sidekick is a companion cosmetic that follows you around the island during a match. Epic describes it as “a ghost-dodging hero with a taste for dots.” It belongs to the Gaming Legends Series.
The Sidekick is invincible and comes with arcade sound effects and jingles. However, it offers no gameplay advantage. It does not detect enemies or loot, and you can’t customize its appearance.
How to get the Pac-Man Sidekick in Fortnite

Buying it takes under a minute:
- Launch Fortnite and open the Item Shop.
- Find the Pac-Man section at the top.
- Select the Pac-Man Sidekick (1,500 V-Bucks) or the full bundle.
- Hold the Purchase button until the circle fills.
- Open your Locker, go to the Sidekicks tab, and equip it.

Pac-Man Sidekick vs. bundle: which is worth it?
The bundle costs 2,200 V-Bucks. That is only 700 more than the Sidekick alone (1,500), and it adds five more items. The six pieces carry a combined value of 4,500 V-Bucks, so the bundle saves you 2,300.
| Option | Price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Sidekick only | 1,500 V-Bucks | Pac-Man Sidekick |
| PAC-MAN Bundle | 2,200 V-Bucks | Pac-Man Sidekick, Pac-Sneaks Kicks, Pac-Man Back Bling, Pac-Man’s Snacks Back Bling, Pac-Man’s Gloves Pickaxe, PAC-Brained Emote |
Importantly, the Sidekick is the only piece that follows you into every match. Buy the bundle if you also want the pickaxe and emote. The Snacks Back Bling reportedly cycles from Cherry to Orange to Galaxian as you land eliminations.
Equipping the Sidekick also earns Sidekick Points in Battle Royale and Zero Build. These points reportedly unlock bonus cosmetics such as the Waka Waka emoticon and a Blue Dot Snack emote. Only one outlet has reported the full reward list so far, so treat it as unconfirmed.
Pac-Man Sidekick shop dates and time zones
The Item Shop resets at 8 PM ET, which is 00:00 UTC. That explains why some outlets list September 18 and others list September 19. Both refer to the same rotation.
| Event | Date | ET | PT | UTC | IST |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Arrives in shop | September 18, 2026 | 8:00 PM | 5:00 PM | 00:00 (Sept 19) | 5:30 AM (Sept 19) |
| Leaves shop | September 25, 2026 | 8:00 PM | 5:00 PM | 00:00 (Sept 26) | 5:30 AM (Sept 26) |
Note that some early guides list a 5:00 AM PT release. That time is incorrect.
Free Pac-Man content you can get instead
You don’t need V-Bucks to join the collab. The following are live through October 31, 2026:
- Mecha Ghost mini bosses: They drop high-tier mythic loot and are the best source for the Blinky Sprite.
- Blinky Sprite: This Legendary sprite cloaks you for roughly 3 seconds at Level 1 and about 5 seconds at Level 5 after you take damage.
- Pac-Man landmarks: Pac-Man Island, Blinky Island, and Pinky Island now feature arcade machines and ghost-shaped clouds.
You can also redeem the latest Fortnite admin panel codes for extra sprite rewards. Looking for another crossover this season? Here’s how to get the Kingdom Hearts skins, which include a free Sora path.
Signing Off
The Pac-Man Sidekick is a compact, sought-after collab piece, and its window closes September 25. Epic hasn’t confirmed a return date, though shop items in Season 4 may resurface later. With the Override season still early, more arcade crossovers could follow.
The Sidekick costs 1,500 V-Bucks on its own. The full PAC-MAN Bundle costs 2,200 V-Bucks.
The bundle has six items: the Sidekick, Kicks, two Back Blings, a Pickaxe, and an Emote.
It leaves on September 25, 2026 at 8 PM ET (5 PM PT). A return may happen, but Epic hasn’t announced one.
No. It’s purely cosmetic and invincible, and it does not detect enemies or loot.
Yes, but not the Sidekick. The Blinky Sprite and Mecha Ghost mini bosses are free through October 31, 2026.
