Fortnite Holofoil Sprites landed in Chapter 7 Season 3, Runners, on July 9, 2026, giving the season’s already sprawling Sprite Checklist its newest shiny addition. Epic rolled the variant out quietly, via hotfix rather than a full client update, so there was nothing to download before the reflective new Sprites started turning up on the Island.
Importantly, Holofoil isn’t just a coat of paint. Every squad member equipping one gets a real mechanical boost toward finding the game’s rarer Sprite tiers, which is exactly why the variant has become a priority pickup for anyone still chasing a complete collection. Its arrival has also reshuffled the rarity ladder: Holofoil now sits as the most common Special Variant, ahead of Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy, in that order.
Below, you’ll find every Holofoil Sprite currently in the game, the base rarity of each, where to look for it, and when Epic’s dedicated boosted-spawn event runs this week.
What Do Holofoil Sprites Do in Fortnite?

Equipping a Holofoil Sprite grants your entire squad a 5% increased chance of pulling a rare Sprite variant, specifically Gold, Gummy, or Galaxy, out of any chest you loot. The bonus is stackable, so a full four-person squad running four Holofoil Sprites pushes that chance up to 20% collectively.
Beyond the mechanical upside, the reflective, foil-like finish makes these Sprites noticeably easier to spot against the environment than a standard variant, which blends in more easily. Between the visibility and the rare-Sprite tracking, players who are close to finishing their Sprite Checklist have good reason to treat Holofoil hunting as a priority rather than a side activity.
Where to Find Every Holofoil Sprite in Fortnite

There’s no single guaranteed method for pulling a Holofoil Sprite. Instead, every base Sprite in the game that has variants can drop in Holofoil form, through the same channels you’d normally use to get that Sprite: looting, fishing, completing quests, or opening Sprite Chests. The one exception is the Burnt Peanut Sprite, which doesn’t have Holofoil, Gold, Gummy, or Galaxy variants at all.
As of this writing, there are 15 confirmed Holofoil variants. Here’s where to look for each one, ordered from most to least common.
1. Water Sprite
- Rarity tier: Rare
- Where to find it: Near lakes, rivers, and beaches around the map.
2. Earth Sprite
- Rarity tier: Rare
- Where to find it: Deep inside forests and wooded areas.
3. Fire Sprite
- Rarity tier: Rare
- Where to find it: Busy urban locations, cities, and towns.
4. Fishy Sprite
- Rarity tier: Rare
- Where to find it: Fishing at any fishing spot, though Golden Fishing Spots offer noticeably better odds.
5. Duck Sprite
- Rarity tier: Epic
- Where to find it: Vault areas at Sinister Strip and Frosted Flats.
6. Ghost Sprite
- Rarity tier: Epic
- Where to find it: Anywhere on the Island, but only after dark.
7. Demon Sprite
- Rarity tier: Epic
- Where to find it: Regular Sprite Chests and blue Rare Chests.
8. Aura Sprite
- Rarity tier: Epic
- Where to find it: Sprite Chests exclusively.
9. King Sprite
- Rarity tier: Epic
- Where to find it: Sprite Chests, Rare Chests, or by defeating AI bots.
10. Striker Sprite
- Rarity tier: Epic
- Where to find it: Scoring a goal at the soccer pitch near Heatwave Harbor, or Sprite Chests.
11. Punk Sprite
- Rarity tier: Legendary
- Where to find it: High-tier Vault Sprite Chests that require a keycard.
12. Dream Sprite
- Rarity tier: Legendary
- Where to find it: Inside Vault Sprite Chests.
13. Boss Sprite
- Rarity tier: Legendary
- Where to find it: Defeating Chapter 7 Season 3 bosses; rare drop from Sprite Chests too.
14. Zero Point Sprite
- Rarity tier: Mythic
- Where to find it: High-tier Vault Sprite Chests only. One of the toughest pulls on this list.
15. Grim Reaper Sprite
- Rarity tier: Mythic
- Where to find it: A rare drop from Sprite Chests around the Island. With the lowest drop rate of any Sprite here, this is the hardest Holofoil to land.
If RNG isn’t cooperating, the Sprite trading system is a reliable fallback for filling in whichever Holofoil variants you’re missing.
Holofoil Hours: the Best Time to Hunt
Epic has scheduled a dedicated Holofoil Hours event, part of the ongoing Sprite Events schedule, for July 11, 2026. It runs in two 2-hour windows: 2 PM ET to 4 PM ET (11 AM PT to 1 PM PT) and 9 PM ET to 11 PM ET (6 PM PT to 8 PM PT). Holofoil spawn rates get a significant boost during both sessions, making it the single best time to farm the variant.
Apart from the increased spawn rate, players get a couple of match-wide bonuses during Holofoil Hours: everyone starts with a free Self-Revive Device and a Shock Rock effect, and Shock Rocks themselves grant double jump height and drop more frequently than usual. Holofoil Sprites remain obtainable after the event ends too, just at a lower spawn rate, so there’s no hard cutoff to worry about if you miss the window.
Once you land a Holofoil Sprite, extracting it through a Portable Extractor rather than a standard Extraction Site is worth doing, since it’s quick and doesn’t leave you exposed to a Sprite steal while you wait out the timer.
Wrapping Up
Holofoil has quickly become the entry point for the season’s rare-Sprite chase, and with a Spider-Man Sprite reportedly on the way (unconfirmed by Epic so far), the pool of variants worth tracking down may only grow before Chapter 7 Season 3 wraps up in August. For now, Holofoil Hours on July 11 is the most efficient window to lock in as many of the 15 variants as possible.
