Fortnite Birthday Rewards 2026: How to Unlock All 5

Fortnite turns nine this month, and Epic started the celebration on September 21, 2026, during Chapter 7 Season 4, titled Override. The event brings back Birthday Presents, Balloons, and cake slices. It also adds nine quests, a code-based spray, and a new Birthday Sprite, which arrives on September 26, the anniversary of Battle Royale’s launch.

There are five free rewards, but they take very different amounts of effort. One takes about 30 seconds in the lobby, three come from casual quests, and one depends on sprite progress from the whole season. The quests end on October 1, 2026, at 3 AM ET (12 AM PT), when Fortnitemares takes over.

None of these rewards cost V-Bucks, and none need the Battle Pass.

All Fortnite Birthday quests

The quest targets go up by one each time, from 1 to 9, to match the ninth birthday. That makes the list easy to remember. It also means the last two quests take the most time.

You can complete the quests in any order. Progress carries over between matches, except for the Named Locations quest, which you must finish in one match.

Where to find Birthday Cakes

Cakes spawn at these Named Locations:

• Lifty Lodge
• Latte Landing
• Wonkeeland
• Chopped Shop
• Battlewoods
• Cluster Canyon
• Sunken Shores
• Heatwave Harbor

These locations also work as a route for the Named Locations quest. Land at one of them and move through the others to eat slices and visit locations in the same match.

How to unlock Fortnite Birthday reward

1. Choco-9 Cake Back Bling

• Requirement: Complete any 3 Birthday quests
• Best picks: Dance, Search containers, Throw Birthday Presents

Dancing takes one emote, and you can search seven containers in your first few minutes on the ground. Throw three presents in the same match and the Back Bling unlocks.

2. Cake Crusher Pickaxe

• Requirement: Complete any 6 Birthday quests
• Best picks: Eat cake slices, Deploy Balloons, Wish the Bus Driver

Press the Thank the Bus Driver prompt before you jump in every match. You need nine matches for this quest, so start it on day one. You can finish the cake and balloon quests quickly after landing at a cake location.

3. FNCS Sentry Back Bling

• Requirement: Complete all 9 Birthday quests
• Best picks: Headshots, ADS eliminations, 8 Named Locations

This is the only quest reward that takes some effort. A marksman rifle or sniper makes the headshots and ADS eliminations easier. For the Named Locations quest, land near the edge of the map and rotate with the storm instead of fighting.

4. 9th Birthday Sprite Spray

• Requirement: Redeem code 9YEARS
• Best picks: None needed, since you redeem it in the lobby

1. Open Fortnite and stay in the lobby.
2. Click the Admin Panel button in the top-right corner.
3. Type 9YEARS and select Submit.

The spray goes straight to your Locker. The full Admin Panel code list has the other Lobby Hack rewards from this season.

5. 9th Birthday Skin

• Requirement: Master 28 Sprites during Chapter 7 Season 4
• Best picks: Sprites you’ve already leveled partway

This is the hardest reward to earn. Sprites you mastered before September 21 count, so check your progress in the Sprites tab first. If you’re short, play during the Sprite Power Hour windows to level up faster. Epic’s recent changes also made Sprites easier to level up.

What the Birthday Sprite adds on September 26

Epic adds the Birthday Sprite on New Sprite Day, September 26. When it’s equipped, eliminations and chests drop birthday cake that restores health and shield. That gives you healing while you finish the combat quests.
