Fortnitemares 2026 went live on October 1, 2026, with the v42.30 update. It brings Five Nights at Freddy’s to Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. The Arcade landmark is now Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, and four animatronics roam the island as bosses: Freddy, Foxy, Bonnie, and Chica.
These bosses do more than drop loot. Beat one and you can climb inside its shell, which works as a second life for the rest of the match. That flips the original games around: you’re no longer the night guard, you’re the animatronic. If you want the cosmetics instead, the FNAF Fortnite bundle lists every skin and price.
Where is Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza in Fortnite?
Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza sits in the far northeast corner of the map. It’s south of the Pac-Man island and northeast of Nightmare Neighborhood, the reworked Battlewoods. It took over the old Arcade landmark, so if you landed there last month, you already know the drop.
The building is a wide, low restaurant ringed by scaffolding. Inside you’ll find a checkered dining hall, a kitchen, vents, a security office with CRT monitors, and a raised stage on the back wall. The stage is where the fixed bosses spawn.

1. Freddy Fazbear

Freddy starts on stage and then wanders the building. He freezes whenever someone looks at him. If another squad hit the Pizzeria before you, he may have moved off the stage, so check the dining hall and hallways.
2. Foxy the Pirate

Foxy shares the stage with Freddy and wakes up shortly after you walk through the door. Expect to fight both at once if you go in without a plan.
3. Bonnie the Rabbit

Bonnie has no set location. One early sighting put him at Chopped Shop, but that won’t repeat every match. According to TechWiser, random-spawn animatronics don’t get a skull icon on the minimap, so you’ll have to spot him yourself.

Chica works like Bonnie: there’s no fixed spot and apparently no map marker. While she stands still, she’s easy to mistake for a decoration.
How to beat the FNAF animatronics
Each animatronic has 300 HP and attacks in melee range. They follow one rule from the original games: they won’t move while you’re looking at them. Once you turn away, their eyes go red and they sprint at you.
You can use that rule:
- Back-pedal while shooting. As long as an animatronic stays on your screen, it can’t close the gap.
- Fight Freddy and Foxy from the doorway. At the entrance, both stay in your view. Deep inside the dining hall, one will usually end up behind you.
- Split the work in squads. One player watches the animatronic while another flanks and deals damage.
- Listen before you look. Bonnie and Chica blend in when they’re still, but their footsteps give them away when they move.
Two animatronics chasing you at once can overwhelm you quickly, so clear one before pulling the next.
How to possess an animatronic and what you get
After you knock an animatronic down, walk up to it and hold the interact button for about three seconds. Your outfit turns into that animatronic, red eyes included, and you keep your current inventory.
Here’s what the shell does:
- Extra life: If you’re eliminated while wearing it, you burst out of the suit and keep playing with 30 HP. One report says you come out with no Overshield, while Nintendo Life says your existing shield bar stays.
- Bonus durability: Destructoid reports that the shell adds 100 health and 100 shields on top of your own.
- No time limit: The shell stays on until it breaks.
- Free pass from other animatronics: Other animatronics reportedly ignore you while you’re wearing one.
According to TechWiser, every animatronic also drops a Wood Stakes Shotgun, a Chug Jug, and a random Fortnitemares sprite.
When to hunt animatronics for the best value
Since the shell lasts until it breaks, the earlier you get one, the longer it protects you. Some tips:
- Land at the Pizzeria early. Each animatronic can be possessed once per match, and squads clear the stage fast. If you arrive late, Freddy and Foxy may already be gone.
- Treat Bonnie and Chica as bonuses. Don’t change your route to look for them. If one turns up on the way, take it.
- Expect company late in a match. The shell is a visible FNAF outfit with glowing eyes, so a third party at the Pizzeria will know what you’ve been doing. A second life matters most in the final circles, where fights come fast.
