Rockstar Games is less than two weeks away from showing Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look on Netflix, and a new leak is already claiming to reveal some of the gameplay features fans may see.
YouTuber and TV host HipHopGamer says GTA 6 will feel “completely different” from previous entries because of more advanced AI, deeper vehicle interactions, and gameplay that lets Jason and Lucia work together rather than simply switching between them. The claims originated from a July appearance on the Brands in Play podcast and have since spread across the GTA community.
The timing makes the leak more interesting. Rockstar has revealed relatively little gameplay since Trailer 2, while its August 27 Netflix presentation will be the biggest official look at GTA 6 in more than a year. Netflix confirms the Extended Look premieres on August 27 at 3 PM ET, while Rockstar says GTA 6 itself launches November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.
None of HipHopGamer’s gameplay claims are confirmed by Rockstar, so they should still be treated as rumors. Here’s everything he claimed, how credible the information is, and what Rockstar and Netflix have actually confirmed about the upcoming reveal.
Who Leaked the New GTA 6 Gameplay Details
The latest claims come from HipHopGamer, who discussed GTA 6 during an appearance on the Brands in Play podcast. According to summaries of the interview, he said the game feels fundamentally different from previous GTA titles because of its AI, interaction systems, and overall level of immersion.
He also claimed that stealing and interacting with vehicles is more detailed, Jason and Lucia can cooperate during gameplay, and Rockstar has broader plans involving user-generated content and media integration.
The biggest reason for caution is the source itself. HipHopGamer is not one of the GTA community’s established Rockstar insiders, and he did not provide evidence or name additional sources during the interview. That doesn’t automatically make the information wrong, but it does mean none of these features should be treated as confirmed until Rockstar shows them.
GTA 6 Gameplay Features Reportedly Leaked

Here are the main features HipHopGamer claims are coming to GTA 6.
1. A More Reactive AI-Driven World
The biggest claim is that GTA 6 uses more advanced AI and interaction systems to make Leonida react more naturally to the player.
HipHopGamer described the game as feeling “completely different” from previous GTA titles because of the way AI, immersion, and environmental interactions work together. Reports covering his comments say he compared the level of immersion favorably with Rockstar’s own Red Dead Redemption 2.
Rockstar has already described GTA 6 as its “biggest, most immersive evolution” of the series, but it has not explained exactly what that means for NPC behavior or open world systems.
So while a more reactive world would fit Rockstar’s official positioning, the specific AI systems described in the leak remain unconfirmed.
2. Jason and Lucia May Work Together During Missions
This could be one of the biggest structural changes from GTA 5.
GTA 5 let players switch between Michael, Franklin, and Trevor, but you generally controlled one protagonist at a time. HipHopGamer claims Jason and Lucia can instead work together during gameplay, suggesting some missions may involve coordinated actions between both protagonists.
Rockstar’s official description already emphasizes that Jason and Lucia are forced to “rely on each other more than ever” after a robbery goes wrong, but that wording does not confirm a cooperative gameplay mechanic.
If the leak is accurate, the relationship between Jason and Lucia could influence mission design more directly than GTA 5’s character switching system did.
3. Vehicle Interactions Could Be More Detailed
HipHopGamer also claims Rockstar has significantly expanded how players interact with vehicles.
According to summaries of his interview, stealing cars, entering and exiting them, and performing actions while inside vehicles are supposedly more detailed than in GTA 5.
There is some circumstantial support for Rockstar working on more advanced animation technology. Take-Two has filed patents covering systems designed to create more dynamic character animations, although patents only show technology a company has explored and do not confirm that every system will appear in GTA 6.
That makes this one of the more plausible claims in the leak, but there still isn’t enough evidence to say the final game will include the specific vehicle interactions HipHopGamer described.
4. Advanced DualSense Support on PS5
Another claim is that GTA 6 will use the PS5 DualSense controller much more extensively than GTA 5.
HipHopGamer reportedly compared its implementation with Astro Bot, one of the strongest examples of adaptive trigger and haptic feedback support on PlayStation 5. Reports don’t provide specific examples of how GTA 6 would use those features, though.
Rockstar currently markets the game for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, with its official site saying GTA 6 “plays best on PlayStation 5.” Rockstar has not yet detailed what PS5 specific features that phrase refers to.
Until Rockstar explains those differences, Astro Bot level DualSense support remains firmly in rumor territory.
5. Controls Designed With Competitive Players in Mind
One of the vaguer claims is that Rockstar has considered competitive or esports style players when designing GTA 6’s controls.
HipHopGamer did not clearly explain whether this applies to the single-player campaign, the eventual GTA Online experience, or both. Social posts summarizing his comments mention competitive and esports players, but provide little detail beyond that.
That lack of specifics makes this one of the hardest claims to evaluate. GTA Online has developed a competitive community over the years, so tighter controls would make sense, but Rockstar has not announced any esports plans for GTA 6.
6. Bigger UGC and Media Tools
HipHopGamer has also repeatedly claimed GTA 6 will make a major push into user-generated content.
Earlier this year, he suggested Rockstar’s UGC ecosystem could become large enough for creators to make substantial money from content they build inside the game. More recent summaries of his comments also mention film and television integration and tools that could support broader creator-driven experiences.
This is where the leak becomes harder to square with other public comments from Take-Two. CEO Strauss Zelnick has said GTA’s fictional brands help keep the series free from awkward real-world product placement, suggesting Rockstar remains cautious about direct brand integration.
A larger creator ecosystem is certainly possible, especially given GTA Online’s longevity, but claims about branded storylines or media campaigns should be treated cautiously until Rockstar explains its plans.
How the Leak Connects to the August 27 Netflix Event

The timing of these claims matters because Rockstar and Netflix have already confirmed a major GTA 6 presentation for August 27.
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premieres on Netflix at 3 PM ET on August 27, 2026. Netflix describes the partnership as a first of its kind arrangement that gives subscribers an early look at the game.
Rockstar also confirms that the presentation will appear on its own channels later that day, meaning Netflix subscribers get the first viewing window rather than permanent exclusivity.
What neither company has clearly confirmed is the exact format of the Extended Look. Netflix calls it an extended look at GTA 6, but neither announcement explicitly says it will be a traditional gameplay demo, developer presentation, cinematic trailer, or a mix of all three.
That uncertainty is exactly why the HipHopGamer claims are getting attention now. If Rockstar plans to explain AI systems, character cooperation, or vehicle mechanics during the presentation, August 27 could confirm or disprove several parts of the leak at once.
When Does GTA 6 Release
Rockstar has officially set November 19, 2026 as the GTA 6 release date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.
The game was originally targeting 2025 before Rockstar moved it to 2026 and later settled on the November date. Take-Two reiterated the November 19 launch in its latest financial results, so that remains the official date as of August 2026.
Preorders are already open, and digital buyers will be able to preload the game beginning November 12.

Final Thoughts
The new GTA 6 gameplay leak is interesting because several claims fit the direction Rockstar has already hinted at: a more immersive world, stronger cooperation between Jason and Lucia, and technology designed to make interactions feel more natural.
But that does not make the leak confirmed.
HipHopGamer has provided no evidence for the claims, and Rockstar has not officially detailed the AI systems, cooperative protagonist mechanics, DualSense implementation, esports focused controls, or UGC tools described in the interview. The safest approach is to treat all of them as rumors until the August 27 presentation.
Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long. Netflix will premiere Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look at 3 PM ET on August 27, giving us the clearest official look at Rockstar’s next game before its November 19 release.
