The season’s premise has the island glitching apart, letting pieces of other games break through, and Epic has used that setup to justify one of its biggest crossover rosters yet. Sora, the Keyblade wielder from Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts series, is part of that roster, confirmed through Epic’s own seasonal key art showing him in his Kingdom Hearts II outfit.
He isn’t in the Battle Pass, though. Sonic the Hedgehog headlines that track and unlocks instantly on purchase, while Sora sits in a separate bucket of licensed Item Shop drops that Epic is rolling out on its own schedule. That distinction matters for anyone tracking the Season 4 Battle Pass lineup, since it means grinding tiers won’t get you Sora. You’ll need V-Bucks and a shop refresh that, as of this writing, still hasn’t happened.

Dataminer HYPEX surfaced the Gummi Ship textures on August 5, 2026, roughly two weeks before Override launched, and followed up with what they called an “official look” at the Sora skin and Keyblade once Epic’s own season art dropped. One notable design change: the Mickey Mouse charm that normally hangs off Sora’s Keyblade keychain has been stripped out.
Nintendo made the same edit for Sora’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate debut in October 2021, since Mickey’s likeness carries separate Disney licensing that complicates crossovers outside Disney’s own properties.

Six days into Override, Sora still hasn’t shown up. Sonic unlocked on day one through the Battle Pass, but reporting around the season launch made clear that Joker and Sora were both held back for later Item Shop rotations rather than a same-day drop. Epic hasn’t published a shop schedule, and past seasons show these licensed skins tend to surface without much advance warning beyond a shop-rotation leak the night before.
There’s no official price yet either. Comparable licensed “Gaming Legends” skins in past Item Shop rotations have run between 1,500 and 2,000 V-Bucks, or roughly $17 to $22 at current rates, so that range is a reasonable expectation rather than a confirmed number.
Sora’s Place in a Stacked Crossover Season
Override’s Item Shop lineup goes well beyond Kingdom Hearts. Alongside Sora, Epic has confirmed or teased Joker from Persona 5 (with a Morgana cosmetic), Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon as a sidekick, and Pac-Man as a sidekick, plus licensed additions tied to Honkai: Star Rail, Street Fighter, The Witcher, and Tomb Raider.
